INTRODUCTIONForward:(insert message from Joel Swift)Development of the softwareWith the help of UC Davis Medical Center IT Client Services, Facilities Planning & Development (FP&D) began efforts in August 2016 to replace its' outdated PRISM financial/project management software. PMweb, with headquarters in Wakefield, MA, was the selected software vendor through an extensive RFI and RFQ process. They are supported by HKA, a local Sacramento based 3rd party software developer which provided custom software configuration unique to FP&D operations. Compass was a name selected by FP&D to describe our uniquely configured software. Our development strategy focused on configuration and roll-out of all basic features requried to replace PRISM in order for PRISM to be phased-out. However, Compass offers greater abilty to streamline our processes. As such, our initial roll-out will have some manual tasks associated with it on an interim basis. Further roll-out and training will provide greater automation and functionality and training guides will be updated accordinglyAbout this GuideCompass (also refered to as PMWeb®) is a tool to support the Business Processes related to Program/Project management and should be utilized in that capacity.
